Marc Hernandez

Marc is a mortgage industry veteran with nearly two decades of experience dedicated to expanding access to homeownership for underserved and diverse communities.

As Co-founder and CEO of Aequalend, he leads the development of culturally competent mortgage solutions designed to close the financial inclusion gap and create real pathways to homeownership for families historically left out of the system. Marc is also the founder of Guideline Buddy, an AI-powered underwriting and guideline intelligence platform, and Allonge, a blockchain-based solution unlocking liquidity in scratch-and-dent mortgage assets.

A recognized industry leader, Marc has been named a HousingWire Rising Star, featured in The New York Times, and selected to participate in the FHFA Tech Sprint focused on Generative AI. He previously served as President of the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association and remains active with NAHREP, advocating for sustainable Hispanic homeownership.

Marc holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, the Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation, and is a graduate of the MBA Future Leaders Program. He has also completed executive education in AI and blockchain at Cornell and UC Berkeley.

Based in Houston, Texas, Marc lives with his wife and enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures, and cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Dallas Cowboys.
