Manolo Aláez

Manolo Aláez brings nearly a decade of mortgage industry experience, combining frontline origination with deep underwriting expertise. He began his career at Rocket Mortgage as a Spanish Language Loan Officer, where he built a strong foundation serving diverse clients and expanding access to homeownership within the Hispanic community.

He later joined United Wholesale Mortgage as an Account Executive, working directly with brokers to structure and close loans. Recognizing a gap in technical mastery across the industry, Manolo transitioned into underwriting, where he spent years honing his craft. He underwrote both Conventional and FHA loans and earned his Direct Endorsement (DE) certification through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development—a distinction that reflects his deep knowledge of FHA guidelines and risk assessment.

Today, Manolo is focused on impact at scale. He serves as the Director of Advocacy for the Hispanic Organization of Mortgage Experts, where he works to advance Hispanic homeownership through education, policy awareness, and industry alignment. He is also a member of the Hispanic Homeownership Council for the Broker Action Coalition, collaborating with industry leaders to drive meaningful change.

At the local level, Manolo is the founding Treasurer of the NAHREP Detroit Chapter, the first NAHREP chapter in Michigan, where he plays a key role in supporting growth, financial stewardship, and community engagement.

Known for his direct approach, technical precision, and commitment to service, Manolo operates at the intersection of execution and advocacy—helping clients, professionals, and the industry move forward with clarity and purpose.
